Giulietta, Juliet, Julia

Hey everyone!
It's been such a long time since my last post, and I'm very sorry about that - but here we are, back again on our exchange about the best books in the world!

I'd like to start with my most favourite book in the world, written by the great danish/american author Anne Fortier.
Probably everyone in the world knows Shakespeares story about two young italian lovers from hostile families. You all know what I'm talking about. Romeo and Juliet.
Everyone knows how the story ends: Juliet fakes her death, Romeo finds her, kills himself, Juliet finds him, kills herself ( this time properly).

But what would you do, if you find out, that your a descendant of Shakespeares heroine? That you are Juliet herself this time?
That's Julie Jacobs problem - she always loved the drama, but she can not believe that she is Juliet - or Giulietta, as she is known in Siena, the "real" Verona. If you're interested in this book, you should totally read more about it's content ( maybe here )
, but I won't tell you more about it, because on the one side, this book is just the best book I've ever read, and when I start talking/writing about it, I will not be able to stop, and on the otherside, I have to confess that I'm not very good in writing summarys ;D

But I have to say one last thing about this great novel: It is VERY different than you would expect it, because it's not that "typical" Romeo & Juliet story, and Anne Fortier has just a great writing style and developes such an amazing, thrilling, romantic story, that this book is just perfect, and I can't wait to see the movie one day of this stunning story.

1. German
2.New Zealand/Australia
3. Danish
4. American
5. Finnish
6. Greek
7. UK

I  have to quit now, because this book really IS a worldwide bestseller, and it has so incredible many great covers, that I can't show them all to you, but if you're interested in them just visit Anne Fortier's Facebook page! There you can get also many information about her new book "The lost sisterhood", which is also a VERY great novel, and about which I will tell you something soon!

I'd like to know now, if you know some other stories in which the character discover that they are descendants of some antique famous persons ( maybe even lovers?), or stories about "new" Romeos and Juliets. And of course - as always - Which cover do you like most? Maybe even a cover, which is not shown here? And did you know the book already?

Thanks for reading, and I promise that I'll try to blog more!
Greetings,

Cat

Starcrossed, Dreamless and Goddess

Today I'd like to present you some of my favourite books in the world - the starcrossed trilogy by Josephine Angelini!

The content:

Helen Hamilton has spent her entire sixteen years trying to hide how different she is—no easy task on an island as small and sheltered as Nantucket. And it's getting harder. Nightmares of a desperate desert journey have Helen waking parched, only to find her sheets damaged by dirt and dust. At school she's haunted by hallucinations of three women weeping tears of blood . . . and when Helen first crosses paths with Lucas Delos, she has no way of knowing they're destined to play the leading roles in a tragedy the Fates insist on repeating throughout history.
As Helen unlocks the secrets of her ancestry, she realizes that some myths are more than just legend. But even demigod powers might not be enough to defy the forces that are both drawing her and Lucas together—and trying to tear them apart.

It is a great book with lovely characters and an exciting and romantic story. As you may have noticed, the greek mythology plays a great part in it.

Who of you knows the book? And who of you loves as much as I do?
And - of course - which one of these is your favourite cover? ;)

1. German one
2. American
3.Spanish version
4. Swedish
5. British
6.Catalanian one
7.Portuguese one
8.Serbian one

I like nearly all of them - but the Catalanian and American ones are most beautiful, because the dresses of the women are soooo ... I just love them!
The German one is great, too, because it is so different than the others, but it totally fits to the book and the main character Helen! :)
What do you think?

Ruby Red...Again!

Here we are... Again!
Since my first post was about some of the different covers of the book "Ruby Red", by the German author Kerstin Gier, I'd like to present you now three cinema posters of the official movie. The first one is the Russian poster, and you can see Gwen and Gideon in front of some buildings in London. You can see the signet of the council in front of them.

The second poster is the official one in Germany, and you can see Gwen ans Gideon again in front of the signet.

And the last poster is the German Teaser poster, which only shows the signet.

I personally think the Russian one ist the most beautiful, because I like the background much more than the ones of the German posters.
I don't know, if there are some more posters of other countries, because I don't know, if the movie is released in other countries than Germany and Russia. If you have some information about this, it would be great, if you would share them with us ;)
Which Poster do you like?

P.S. The second part "Sapphire Blue" is coming to the German cinemas in August 2014 - I am so excited to see it! And you? :)

Ruby Red, Rubinrot or Czerwien Rubinu?

Maybe you have already heard about the book Ruby Red ( or Rubinrot in German, Czerwien Rubinu in Polish, Red in Italian and so on...)
I read it round  about two years ago, and I fell in love with it  in a very, VERY short time :)
I am so happy, that this book is coming into our cinemas right now ( at least in Germany and Russia)!
But that´s not what I wanted to ask you. I´d like to know, which one of these covers is your most favourite? The American, Italian, Polish, Swedish, Chinese or British? Or still the first cover of this book, the German one?

Sooo... Which one do you think is the best? I love the Polish and German ones, but the American cover is also nice!

Hallo, Hello and Ciao!

Nice to meet you!
That´s what you normally say, if you meet a new person, and so, it is the first, I´d like to say to you.
Isn´t it great, to meet new people from other countries, with different cultures and totally different lives? I just love it!
And because of this, I  made this Blog. This Blog is for everyone who is interested in talking to other people about books and movies from all around the world.
I´m going to post News and interesting facts or whatever about books and movies, and it would be great, if you could comment them, so we could discuss about them and share our information and opinions.
So, hopefully I´m going to see ( or read) you again, and let´s start posting! :)
